The Team and the Business Development Manager role


As part of its ongoing business growth and development strategy Guestline is now investing in key countries around the world, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. To support this growth Guestline is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager for the DACH region to generate high value sales to independent hotel clients.

 

Reporting to the Director of Business Development for DACH this role is responsible for the full sales life cycle, this is a hands-on role that will include the identification, qualification, and maximisation of new business opportunities, leading to the negotiation of business solution sales at all levels in the defined territories. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a significant contribution within an established organisation, where consistently strong performance is well rewarded.

 

To provide the best possible service to our customers the ideal candidate should have a sound working knowledge of Hotel PMS, distribution or PoS systems. Fluency in both German and English is also important to be able to work closely with our German speaking customers in our global business.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Like all great salespeople we expect you to not only meet and but exceed your sales targets, commission here is uncapped!
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting information and market intelligence to the wider business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our target customers and groups
  • Understand and articulate what is great about our products to our customers 
  • Taking leads from our Marketing and Telesales teams as well as proactively creating your own leads to drive business 
  • It’s a competitive market out there so you will need to be highly proactive and search for opportunities to develop business
  • Attend Trade shows, whilst being present at industry events and having your finger on the pulse with all things hospitality
  • Learn and understand product information and how this can provide a positive return on investment to your prospective clients
  • Increase the profile of Guestline throughout the DACH region
  • Be customer-focused and put a customer lens on all that you do. You can understand the problems of our target customers and translate them into actionable insights
  • You’ll need to be tech-savvy and whilst you don’t need to be able to code, we like our Guestliners to be tech-savvy enough to understand the nuances and workings of our technologies
  • You’ve got a curious mind and you read around your subject and default to open when it comes to sharing knowledge
  • You’re a great communicator and you understand how to get the best out of people, delivering a message right and influencing across different teams and stakeholders; from Engineers to Sales to c-suite, customers and third parties
  • You hit your target. Hitting, surpassing, and setting new targets is second nature to you. You’re motivated by your sales figures and providing a fantastic service to your clients
  • You're great with languages - German is your first language and you're fluent in English
